St Christopher’s has begun an association with Petersgate Counselling Centre, located at 29 Yaldhurst Road, near St Peter’s, Upper Riccarton. Petersgate operates as a not-for-profit charitable trust which, this year, celebrated its 25^th anniversary.

From their website, “Petersgate counselling centre was initially established in 1996 as an ecumenical project to provide a counselling service that is affordable, professional and accessible to everyone, regardless of race, gender and creed. Petersgate helps anyone who needs it, regardless of their circumstances. We take on the hardest cases with love and optimism.”

Petersgate helps individuals and couples to better deal with their life issues. These can be related to relationships, anxiety, depression, personal growth, depression, grief, anger, abuse, money etc.

How can we support Petersgate? There are opportunities to be trained as a reception volunteer, or to become a Friend of Petersgate by making an annual or regular donation to their hardship fund which provides free counselling for families/solo parents in financial difficulty.
